Wedding 2 of 3

Two down and one to go! The weddings have been fun so I don't mean to sound like I'm ready to get them over with. This last one was different because it was a catholic wedding but it was very interesting. The wedding started at 2pm and lasted about an hour and then we had a huge dinner immediately following. Then there was a dance from 8-midnight. My kids didn't make it all night obviously but Cooper made sure to dance to the twist and some other random dance. Cate even attempted a few moves but lost interest after a minute or two. It's always good to see family and we had fun visiting new places and seeing new things in Snyder, TX. In fact, Cooper asked today if we could go see windmills in Snyder (for those of you that have not had the pleasure of visiting west Texas, there is a huge area that is filled with windmills). He was fascinated with them as we drove by. We had fun and are looking forward to the last wedding in about a month!

I don't have any pics from the wedding but these are from my uncle's land that he just bought. Cooper had never seen a horned frog before and was fascinated with this little guy. I can't believe I used to play with these things when I was younger!!

Diego & Dundar

I've had this in my drafts for a while now but just now got a chance to put the finishing touches on it. Anyway, most of you know how much my kids love their blankets, especially Cooper. When he was a little over a year, he named one of his blankets, Dundar. We have no clue where he got this but it stuck and we started calling his blanket Dundar too. It amused us how even family and friends would refer to his blanket as Dundar. Well, when Cate arrived, my great aunt who made Dundar, made a few blankets for Cate and a couple for Cooper so he wouldn't feel left out. He thought they were pretty cool but he was faithful to Dundar. Eventually, Diego, one of the new blankets, began appearing more and more with him in bed, in the car, outside and pretty much in tow everywhere but of course Dundar was always right there. I guess I need to mention that Cooper (this would really embarass him if he was older) loves to find the corner of this blankets and tickle his ear while sucking his thumb. He loves to tickle his ear and will even put himself to sleep doing that. Eventually, the corners get frayed and he has to move on to one of the other corners. Well, a blanket only has 4 corners so when Dundar didn't have any more corners to offer, he realized Diego must start his training. He didn't want to leave Dundar behind though. He loves that blanket and couldn't bear to kick him to the curb. We are so thankful for the blankets that were made with much love just for my kiddos!

Pictures & Trains

I needed some pictures of Cate so I called up my sister and off we went to a place she recommended in downtown Fort Worth. I wanted something really bright and cheery and she knew of the perfect place. When we first pulled up, I thought "Hmmm, I don't know sister...". I was really doubting the place when we saw a homeless man with his cart digging through a pile of stuff. He wasn't there but a minute or two so we got out of the car and she started snapping. Here are a few of my favorites!!

After the photo session, we rewarded the kids with a train ride on the Forrest Park Mini Train. Cooper has ridden this several times and each time it's like his first. His face is full of joy and he loves to just sit back and really take in the scenary. This time he had to point out all the "city buses". He has a thing for city buses and I have no idea why. Cate actually liked it too. The kids were worn out by the time the ride was over and fell asleep in the car shortly after leaving the parking lot.
